Hydrogen Gas Alarm | H₂ Alarm Detector

Fixed hydrogen(H₂) detectors monitor hydrogen concentrations in the air to prevent leaks. When hydrogen concentrations exceed the specified limit, they automatically trigger audible and visual alarms, activating the exhaust system. Hydrogen alarms are commonly used in hydrogen storage tank areas, hydrogen refueling stations, battery plants, and chemical plants to ensure safe production.

Hydrogen(H₂) is a colorless, odorless, and highly flammable gas. If it leaks into the air, it can easily cause an explosion. Because humans cannot detect hydrogen leaks, industrial hydrogen safety detectors must be installed in hydrogen storage, transportation, and refueling stations, battery plants, chemical plants, and laboratories.

Composition and Installation of a Hydrogen(H₂) Alarm System:
It consists of a gas detector and a controller. The gas alarm controller can be placed in the duty room to monitor and control each monitoring point. The hydrogen detector is installed at the location most prone to gas leakage. Its core component is the gas sensor.
– Hydrogen is much lighter than air. Explosion-proof hydrogen alarms should be installed 0.5 to 2 meters above the release source.
– Hydrogen detectors should be installed in a location free from shock, vibration, and strong electromagnetic interference, with a clearance of at least 0.3 meters.

Working Principle of the Hydrogen(H₂) Concentration Alarm System:
The hydrogen detector converts the hydrogen concentration detected by the sensor into an electrical signal, which is transmitted via a cable to the gas detection alarm controller. The higher the gas concentration, the stronger the electrical signal. When the gas concentration reaches or exceeds the alarm threshold set by the alarm controller, the gas detection alarm controller issues an alarm signal and activates external equipment such as solenoid valves and exhaust fans to automatically eliminate the potential hazard.

Applications of Hydrogen(H₂) Concentration Detection Alarms:
They are widely used in environments such as the petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, power, coal mines, and water plants to effectively prevent explosions.
