Installation of ammonia(NH₃) leak alarm in cold storage

Liquid ammonia gas alarm mainly detects the concentration of liquid ammonia gas. When the ammonia concentration exceeds the normal level, it will sound an alarm in time. The industrial gas alarm system is mainly composed of gas detectors and controllers. Toxic gas detectors are widely used in cold storage, food factories, sewage treatment, metallurgy, petroleum, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals and other fields.

Recommended Ammonia Leak Alarm Installation Height:
Ammonia is lighter than air, so the detector should be installed above the leak source, such as above the ammonia storage tank, pipe joint, or valve.
In tall spaces (such as cold storage and workshops), the alarm can be installed above the ceiling or below the ceiling. However, avoid direct contact with the ceiling (leave approximately 0.5 meters clear) to prevent gas from stagnating and preventing it from reaching the sensor.

① When the specific gravity of the gas being detected is greater than that of air, the detector should be installed 30-60 cm from the ground, with the sensor facing downward.
② When the specific gravity of the gas being detected is less than that of air, the detector should be installed 30-60 cm from the ceiling, with the sensor facing downward.

To properly use the ammonia concentration detector and prevent alarm malfunctions, avoid installing it in the following locations:
* Directly exposed to steam or gasoline;
* High airflow locations such as air inlets, exhaust fans, and doors;
* Locations with high moisture and water droplets (relative humidity ≥ 90% RH);
* Temperatures above -40°C or above 55°C;
* Locations subject to electromagnetic interference.

Industrial Ammonia Alarm Precautions:
– The detector undergoes rigorous pre-installation calibration. Do not replace components after installation. If you do, recalibrate the detector.
– The detector sensor has a normal service life of two years. However, this life may decrease depending on the operating environment, so regular inspection and maintenance are required.
– The detector sensor should not be exposed to high gas concentrations, as this may damage the sensor.
– Avoid frequent power outages on the detector, as these can cause unstable operation of the detection element.
– During use, regularly check the instrument for proper operation every three months.
