1. Gas detectors for flammable or toxic gases heavier than air should be installed 0.4–0.6 m above the floor.
2. Gas detectors for flammable or toxic gases lighter than air should be installed 1–2 m above the gas release source.
3. Gas detectors for flammable or toxic gases slightly heavier than air should be installed 0.5–1 m below the gas release source. Detectors for gases slightly lighter than air should be installed 0.5–1 m above the gas release source.
4. Oxygen (O₂) detectors should be installed 1.5–2.0 m above the floor.
5. Open-path flammable gas detectors are mainly used in large open areas. The recommended detection length should not exceed 100 m.
6. Install the detector in a location free from impact, vibration, and strong electromagnetic interference, and where maintenance is easy. Keep at least 0.5 m of clear space between the detector and nearby pipes or equipment to allow safe access for inspection and maintenance.
