Key points for installing gas detectors

Key points for installing gas detectors:
1. Detector Installation Principles: Determined by the type of leaked gas. When a single gas is both flammable and toxic, toxic gas detectors should be prioritized.
2. Alarm and System Independence: The detection alarm should employ a two-level alarm system, with toxic gas alarms taking precedence over flammable gas alarms of the same level. The entire detection alarm system should be independently set up and not mixed with other systems.
3. Power Supply Requirements: The system’s power supply load is a particularly important load within the primary load category and must be reliably supplied. Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) should be prioritized.
4. Core Detector Placement: Detectors must be placed around the release source (e.g., sealing points, sampling ports, valves, etc.). The horizontal distance between the detector and the release source is clearly defined based on the gas type and environmental severity (e.g., flammable gases in open areas ≤ 10m, toxic gases ≤ 4m; distance halved in poorly ventilated areas).
5. Detector Installation Considerations: The installation location should facilitate maintenance and be free from interference. The installation height depends on the gas’s density relative to air. If it is heavier than air, the installation height should be 0.3-0.6m above the ground; if it is lighter than air, it should be installed within 2m above the release source.

Our detectors are mainly used to detect the concentration of the following gases: Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Oxygen (O₂), Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S), Hydrogen (H₂), Carbon Dioxide (CO₂), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Ammonia (NH₃), and Hydrogen Chloride (HCl)……

Our factory CMC has specialized in producing toxic and combustible gas detection systems for more than 10 years. If you need gas detection equipment, please feel free to contact us, we look forward to communicating with you about more product details:
