Standard Measuring Ranges for Gas Detectors:
Different gases require different measuring ranges depending on their properties and applications.

1.Combustible Gas Detector
Measuring Range: 0–100% LEL
Used to detect combustible gases such as methane (CH₄), propane (C₃H₈), and hydrogen (H₂).
2.Oxygen (O₂) Gas Detector
Measuring Range: 0–30% VOL
Suitable for monitoring oxygen deficiency or oxygen enrichment in industrial environments.
3.Toxic Gas Detector
The measuring range depends on the target gas. Common examples include:
Measuring Range
Ammonia (NH₃): 0–100 ppm
Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S): 0–100 ppm / 0–1000 ppm
Carbon Monoxide (CO): 0–500 ppm / 0–1000 ppm / 0–2000 ppm
Typical Gas Detector Alarm Settings
Common factory alarm values include:
Combustible Gas: Low alarm at 25% LEL
Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S): Low alarm at 10 ppm
Carbon Monoxide (CO): Low alarm at 50 ppm
Oxygen (O₂): Low oxygen alarm at 19.0% VOL

Do Users Need to Change the Alarm Settings?
In most applications, no.
Professional gas detectors are factory-configured according to applicable national standards. After proper installation and commissioning, users can operate the detector without modifying the default alarm values. Any adjustment should only be performed by qualified personnel when required by specific site conditions or local regulations.
