Installation of Acetylene (C₂H₂) gas detector and alarm system

The Acetylene (C₂H₂) Gas Alarm System consists of gas detectors and an alarm control panel. It is widely used in petroleum, gas, chemical, oil storage, and other industries where Acetylene (C₂H₂) may be present.

Installation Precautions:
1. The Acetylene (C₂H₂) detector should be installed near valves, pipe connections, gas outlets, or other possible leakage points, preferably within a radius of 1 meter. Install it as close as practical, but do not interfere with the operation of other equipment. Avoid high-temperature and high-humidity areas.

2. For large-area gas detection, one detector can generally be installed for approximately 10–12 m². The actual number and location of detectors should be determined according to the site conditions and applicable safety requirements.

3. The Acetylene (C₂H₂) detector can be installed by ceiling suspension, wall mounting, or pipe mounting. Make sure the detector is firmly and securely installed. The installation location should also allow easy maintenance and calibration.

4. The installation height of the Acetylene (C₂H₂) detector should be determined according to the gas characteristics. Since Acetylene (C₂H₂) is lighter than air, the detector should generally be installed near the ceiling, approximately 30 cm below the ceiling, with the sensor facing downward.

5. The detector wiring should use a three-core shielded cable, with a single-core cross-sectional area of more than 1 mm². The shielding layer must be properly grounded.

6. Cables installed at the detection site should be routed through protective conduits. The conduits should comply with applicable fire protection and electrical safety requirements and should be properly connected to the detector.

7. When installing the Acetylene (C₂H₂) detector, make sure that the sensor head faces downward.

8. Always disconnect the power before wiring the detector. Check that all connections are correct before switching on the power. When opening the detector for adjustment or commissioning, make sure there is no combustible gas leakage in the area.

9. The Acetylene (C₂H₂) detector should be calibrated at least once a year to ensure accurate detection.

10. The installation height of the Acetylene (C₂H₂) detector should be selected according to the density and characteristics of the gas being detected.

11.The detector uses a catalytic combustion sensor as the detection element. The sensing element is a platinum wire coil covered with alumina and binder, with a surface containing precious metals such as platinum and palladium. Handle the detector carefully during installation to avoid damaging the sensor.

12. The installation position should be selected according to the density of the detected gas. For gases lighter than air, the detector should generally be installed approximately 30 cm below the ceiling, with the sensor facing downward. For gases heavier than air, the detector should generally be installed approximately 30 cm above the floor, with the sensor facing upward.

13. The Acetylene (C₂H₂) gas alarm system has audible and visual alarm functions. The alarm control panel should be installed in a location where personnel can easily see and hear the alarm, allowing them to respond quickly to potential hazards.

14. Do not install the Acetylene (C₂H₂) detector or alarm control panel near strong electromagnetic interference, such as high-power motors or transformers, as this may affect the normal operation of the instrument.
